Elon Bridge听is an alternative start opportunity for Elon applicants whose academic profile is below the university鈥檚 standard of eligibility. The program is a cohort of up to 16 non-degree seeking (non-matriculating) students taking up to 16 credit hours in the fall semester. Participants live on Elon鈥檚 campus and take courses taught by Elon faculty. Coursework is designed to support student success. Elon Bridge participants who earn a cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher and uphold the Elon Honor Code, will be admitted as matriculating Elon students beginning in the spring semester.

Academic Experience

Students take up to 16 credits hours during the fall semester. All courses are taught on Elon鈥檚 campus by Elon faculty. Coursework may include English, writing, and social science as well as one course in executive functioning designed to support student learning for the first semester and beyond. Highly skilled faculty work with each student to ensure they receive the academic support needed to be successful in their first semester and throughout their college experience. Because Elon Bridge courses are designed to prepare students for college, not all coursework will transfer toward Elon degree requirements. Students cannot drop any courses.

Participants who achieve Elon鈥檚 transfer requirement of a 2.7 cumulative GPA in all Elon Bridge courses will be admitted to the university as degree-seeking students for the spring semester. All candidates for both Elon Bridge and 老澳门六合彩官网 must be free of any conduct violations during their time in high school as well as the first semester on campus.

Students will take 16 credit hours, including the following courses:

  • ENG 1000 English Writing Workshop (4 credits)
  • ENG 1100 Writing and Argument (4 credits)
  • ELN 1710 Executive Functioning and Learning (2 credits)
  • Students can choose one from the following 4-credit courses:
    • HST 1330 Race, Gender and Sports in the US
    • CLA 1100 Classical Mythology
    • SCI 1210 Science Without Borders
    • POL 1110 American Government
    • PSY 1000 Introduction to Psychology
    • SOC 1110 Introduction to Sociology
    • COM 1000 Communications in a Global Age

Beyond Elon Bridge

Elon Bridge students who meet Elon鈥檚 transfer requirements do not need to apply as transfer students. Success in the program and continued interest in completing an undergraduate degree at Elon will result in admission as matriculating students. Because Elon does not require a separate application for a specific degree program, Elon Bridge students may pursue majors in Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences, or any of the professional schools at the university once admitted as degree-seeking students. Admission to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) requires an SAT or ACT. As a result, Elon Bridge students planning on pursuing this major at Elon must submit an appropriate standardized test score before completing the Elon Bridge program.

Students who do not meet Elon鈥檚 transfer requirements or decide to transfer to another college or university will receive full faculty and advising staff support.

Tuition, Fees and Housing

Elon Bridge participants live together in East Neighborhood. Charges for the fall semester will ilnclude tuition, fees, food and housing. Because students are non-matriculating during the fall semester, traditional need-based aid and merit scholarships are not available. However, students may pursue low interest loans offered by 老澳门六合彩官网 to support Elon Bridge enrollment. Participants should complete the FAFSA, as soon as it’s available, and the CSS Profile to determine aid eligibility for the spring semester.
